The graduates were (in alphabetical order): Melissa Arriaga, Anngelolace Blue-McLean, James Brooks, Fred Clark, Alan Grubman, Amy Hannell, Dixie Hollins, Ron Lieberman, Christine Malarkey, Laura Lee Putzback, Dolores Rogers, DuWayne Sipper, Walter Stachowicz, Joseph Turck, Tracy Vassell, Krystal Weedman, and Marco Wilson.

The Academy is designed to give residents an in-depth look into the various departments of the county commission’s government. County Administrator Brad Thorpe said it was the first of a continuing series that the county has been planning for some time. He said, "We believe that informed citizens are involved citizens. We think those who attend the academy will take part in local government by volunteering for things like advisory boards and by communicating with commissioners on important issues with informed opinions. It’s the ’informed‘ part that’s crucial."
